Scenic Painting class projects

The scenic painting class teaches students various techniques such as spatter, splatter, gradation, sponging, line work, etc. that are the basis of all scenic painting jobs. The course work culminates in a final project where students create a “film prop”.

Puppetry class projects

The puppetry class teaches students an overview of the history of puppetry around the world while teaching basic building techniques for various styles of puppet. In the second half of the semester, students focused on the 'muppet' style puppets, creating their own from a Monkey Boys puppet kit and learning to bring them to life with the help of professional puppeteer and original Avenue Q cast member, Rick Lyon. The final project of the class was a theatre for youth puppetry production written and directed by the students.
